As a photographer, it is my intention to capture images in such a way that they appear as if they have been painted. My objective in doing so is to render the landscape before me as elemental graphic shapes and colors. To achieve this, I move my camera in a variety of complex ways while the shutter remains open. As a result, the images are captured organically in-camera and in the moment, not as aresult of elaborate computer post processing.

Sometimes, the movement is sweeping; creating minimalist shapes. At other times, the movement is more contained; creating photographs with impressionistic qualities.

The art of capturing these images lies in balancing the elements of extreme precision, juxtaposed against...absolute chaos.
